Look at both colors, from more than one angle

Ametrine combines purple and yellow-to-orange color zones in quartz. The balance you see can change with the cut, viewing angle, lighting and your screen. Look through the full product gallery rather than choosing from one close-up. GIA describes ametrine as quartz with amethyst and citrine colors. A photograph alone cannot establish natural versus laboratory-grown origin, treatment history or geographic provenance. Check the base metal and the finish

Both rings list 14K gold-plated 925 sterling silver. The base metal is sterling silver with a gold-plated surface; the rings are not solid 14K gold. White zircon accents are listed separately from the ametrine center. Zircon and cubic zirconia are different materials, so use the complete materials list when comparing jewelry.

Plating can wear with use. Keep the ring away from perfume, lotions and household chemicals, and remove it before swimming, showering or exercise. If you have a known metal sensitivity, ask about the full metal and plating composition before buying.

Choose the fit before choosing the gift box

Care for the whole ring

For routine care, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wear and store separately. Protect the gemstone from hard knocks, heat and abrupt temperature changes. Avoid prolonged intense light. GIA rates ametrine at Mohs 7, but that is scratch resistance, not a guarantee against chips or damage. Its ametrine care advice also warns against steam and heat.
